…speaking of ancient hair!

Hairstyles from Akhenaten’s Ancient Egyptian City

Egypt-Amarna-Hairstyles

Interesting news on the super-old hair front: 28 out of 100 recently excavated ancient Egyptian skulls still had hair intact, some with highly complex coiffures (one with upwards of 70 extensions!). Jolanda Bos of the Armana Project conducted the analysis, saying, “the hair was probably styled after death, but such elaborate styles, held together with some kind of fat, were also likely a part of daily life.”
